Kambaku River Sands
Lodge style Safari without boundaries
Get up close and personal with wildlife
As you reminisce of the day’s impressions in front of a crackling fire, don’t be surprised if a giraffe passes by within reach. It is here to give you a lasting memory, one that will linger in your dreams. At Kambaku River Sands – situated in the heart of the Timbavati Game Reserve – there are no fences or boundaries between you and wildlife on the move. Feel like splashing water with an elephant family? They may meet you at the swimming pool for a water fight. Afterwards, let the chef – who loves to sing while he is cooking - pamper you with a tasty English breakfast. Situated at the top of a riverbank, it is the perfect safari spot to get carried away by an unstoppable flow of Africa’s unspoilt wildlife.
At Kambaku River Sands all ten thatched suites have a private deck where you can kick back and watch rhinos, water buffaloes and other Timbavati locals pass by. Also inside your room you don’t have to miss out on anything: all suites have plenty of windows, plus an en-suite bathroom with spa bath, double shower and private toilet overlooking the wild surroundings. Expect service with an eye for detail: come back from your evening safari to find the lights lit and a welcome-back surprise on your pillow. Need a connection to the home front? WiFi is available in the main lodge area. Make it quick though, there is a delicious meal waiting for you. Followed by a nightly African serenade, where crickets and hundreds of birds vie for attention.

All the guides & personnel were wonderful. They were very professional, courteous & gracious I couldn't ask for any thing else. The food was out of this world + the sleeping quarters were so wonderful I wanted to pack everything up & take it all back to the states with me.frankhar from Nashville, TN
The lodge is 1st class all the way with impeccable service, excellent food, and exciting game drives. The entire staff was friendly and made sure I was having a good time. I'd especially like to thank Gidion for taking the time to explain everything to me and trying to make sure I saw the Big Five, which I did. Overall a tremendous experience and highly recommend. Thanks again for a great time.Douglas H from Crestwood, KY
